Holy Code, 2013
30cm x 40cm
The internet is everywhere. Available on every mobile device. We are surrounded by LED lights, cables and our memories (photos, posts) belong in a database. It’s hard to avoid all of this. The Internet and almost all modern technologies have become the alpha and omega of our civilization. They are everywhere and rule our lives. Drawing inspiration from sacred images, “Holy Code” presents a collection of portraits of a holy figure who is now part of the digital world. In one image she is entangled in cables, in another her baby (or a picture of her as a newborn) is part of a database.
